August 5, 2005 - Option Technologies announced
the release of OptionFinder G2, a new advanced wireless
keypad response system for facilitated meetings,
training and classroom applications.
OptionFinder G2 uses two-way radio
frequency technology to transmit and receive responses
from meeting participants. It provides users with a new
smaller, lighter and more powerful radio frequency
keypad platform.
Mark Fite, President and CEO of
Option Technologies, described the product as a
breakthrough platform. “The OptionFinder G2 keypad
system is smaller, lighter, more powerful, faster and
less expensive than our flagship OptionFinder SR
system. From every measurable standpoint, it is
superior technology,” he said. “At a recent tradeshow
where we showed it to customers, the response was “wow,”
Fite indicated.
“We’ve named this our OptionFinder
G2 platform because it represents the next generation
keypad for our core customer base,” Fite shared. “This
system provides a logical migration path for thousands
of our clients who have purchased our flagship
OptionFinder SR keypad system over the past ten years.”
OptionFinder G2 is compatible with
previous versions of OptionPower® and OptionFinder®
software. It provides a seamless migration path for
clients who need to replace an existing system. “Most
important,” said Fite, “the base station uses a USB
connector and weighs only 8 ounces. Clients who use
our systems for instruction and facilitated workshops
will welcome the additional convenience.”
Fite indicated that the
OptionFinder G2 platform uses breakthrough frequency
hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) radio technology to
achieve superior range, reliability and security. “This
is the first radio frequency product that we’ve offered
that can be used license-free anywhere in the world.
The patented radio module is very robust and operates
reliably in the presence of all sorts of other devices.
A single base station has a range of 450 feet,” he
related.
