Option Technologies is pleased to announce the release of OptionPower 2.0, the latest version of the firm’s flagship PowerPoint
®-based interactive response software. The first OptionPower release of 2004 promises improvements in functionality and performance, enhanced stability, and new features that improve reporting and database security. OptionPower 2.0 also includes significant upgrades for the IQ Keypad Platform and now supports language independent versions of Microsoft
® Office
®.

“One of the most significant new features is OptionPower’s presentation licensing capability”, says Monson. “Some of our clients have expressed an interest in sharing their valuable polling processes with other users. This tool makes it possible to license and sell OptionPower polling process, which are contained in a simple PowerPoint presentations.”
The following is a list of key features and enhancements that are available in OptionPower 2.0:
Ethernet for IQ Keypads
Serial port connection is no longer required with OptionFinder
® IQ keypads. Using the Ethernet connection enables faster communication between the IQ base station and your computer. This Ethernet enhancement increases the acceptable range between your computer and base station and also allows for remote-site polling via LAN.
Multi-site Polling
Using OptionFinder IQ keypads with Ethernet connection, you can now simultaneously poll participants from multiple locations around the globe.
Presentation Licensing
This new feature allows for the design of presentations created by industry experts using the OptionPower platform. In the near future, you will be able to purchase these plug-and-play modules to use in your interactive sessions.
Select Active Presentation in Report Manager
The Open OptionPower Presentation is selected by default when running the OptionPower Report Manager.
Automatically Open Excel After Creating a Report
When a report is completed the user is given the option to view the report in Excel.
Integration with Microsoft® .Net Framework 1.1
OptionPower 2.0 is compatible with Microsoft’s current standard for application design — .Net Framework 1.1.
Enhanced security of SQL Server Database
Instance-based Version of the SQL Server
This enhancement provides improved compatibility with software that may have been running an outdated version of the MSDE or SQL Server. It also provides the ability for OptionPower to apply necessary updates to the SQL server in the future.
New Group Competition Report
This report handles the Group rollup for database teams and teams created via a team login slide. The scores are calculated across custom shows. Sort order can be done by score for participant and/or team in ascending or descending order (as well as other sorting options).

Compatibility with Non-English versions of Microsoft Office®
OptionPower will now run on English, German, Spanish, French and Greek versions of Microsoft Office. Other versions can be supported without having to release a new version of OptionPower by updating the language specific control files.
